The trip continued a five-year partnership to help the local church, El Restaurador, build a thriving Royal Ambassadors ministry to disciple its boys and young men.
El Restaurador is no stranger to serving its neighbors. Every Monday, the church feeds roughly 170 children and hosts community Bible studies. By launching an RA chapter, church leaders are taking that outreach a step further, training local men to lead and mentor the next generation.
A young man named Jonathan was among the group that decided to pursue their faith. Having lost his father at a young age and living apart from his mother, Jonathan spent years navigating a rough, independent path before moving in with his sister a year ago.

Though he visited El Restaurador years earlier, he recently returned looking for something deeper — and found it. JR Flores, an RA leader and pastor at Primera Baptist Church in Abilene, prayed with Jonathan as he made his decision.
The moment made a lasting impression on the team. Ferel Gage, an RA leader from Mineral Wells, encouraged the teen right after his decision.

According to RA Coordinator Savion Lee, Jonathan is eager for his next steps.
“When asked what he learned about God, he said that He is always with us, and he wants to take that home, read his Bible more and write in his journal,” Lee said.
